The gallery was founded in 1978 by artist and former Washington, D.C. art commissioner Marjorie E. Goldberg . The gallery has moved several times since its founding and is currently located at 1429 Iris Street NW, Washington, DC. Goldberg also does art work in the lobby at 1111 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The gallery is one of the oldest continuously operating galleries in the city and was honored in 2018 by the D.C. Council at a ceremony celebrating the gallery’s 40th anniversary and “recognizing its contributions to the D.C. Columbia and the Greater Washington suburbs.

Throughout its history, the gallery has pushed boundaries and opened new horizons with an ever-changing array of paintings, sculptures, neon, tapestries and mixed media pieces that stimulate and engage. The gallery, located in two offices in Washington, D.C., provides high quality acquisition and art advice through our gallery/salon/sculpture garden.

Zenith Gallery in Washington, DC presents “Organics,” an exhibition featuring the work of Nancy Frankel and Ann Marchand.

Nancy Frankel is an American sculptor from Washington, D.C. Her work explores “organic geometric” forms in a variety of mediums, including wood, plexiglass, hydrocal, cast design and steel. She describes her work as “organic geometry,” where she combines her love of natural forms with architecture. This provides an exploration of the deeper meaning of materials rather than at the surface level.

Ann Marchand is a New Orleans-based artist who has been surrounded by color her entire life. It is no coincidence that her paintings focus on the interaction of colors. Originally inspired by the Hubble telescope, her paintings radiate the same energy from nebulae and galaxies.
