Wings of Winter

Shop locally at Confluence Gallery's holiday gift show

Confluence Gallery and Art Center's annual holiday gift show offers an opportunity to shop locally for unique presents this holiday season.

Beginning Saturday (Nov. 15) with an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the gift show will continue through Jan. 4.

From inexpensive items to substantial works of art, the gift show features work from 40-50 local and regional artists, as well as artists from as far away as Peru and Zimbabwe.

This year's show is designed around the theme “Wings of Winter.”

"We envision multiple interpretations of our theme", said local painter Cheryl Wrangle, who is curating the show. She said the show will include winter bird images, partridges in pear trees, calling birds, French hens, turtle doves, feathers, angels, the cozy feeling of cuddling into a down comforter, as well as the feeling of having wings “as we ski and skate through our winter landscape enjoying a Methow winter.”

Creative gifts featured in the show include jewelry, wooden bowls and boxes, photographs, felted hats, blown glass, books, paintings, sculpture and cards.
